1) What are the portion sizes for the LUNCH, LUNPER and SUPPER Buffets?
The Picnic BUFFETS have 1, 1.25, 1.5 sandwiches per person, respectively.
The Classic & Elegant BUFFETS has 4 oz, 6 oz, 8 oz entree per person, respectively.
The Picnic, Classic & Elegant buffets have 6-9 oz. of sides served with entrees.
*VHC LUNCH & LUNPER buffets are not available for wedding reception caterings at any time.*
2) What does it mean that Village Hearth Catering sets up the buffet?
Prior to dining time, we assemble the buffet into single or multiple-sided buffet lines according
to the final guest count. After set up is complete, we depart from the venue, unless otherwise contracted. The buffet is self-serving without wait staff, but wait staff is available for gratuity.
The customer provides buffet & dinner tables, chairs and table coverings. For linen rentals refer
to Upgrades link. (Buffets = One banquet table per 50 guests.)
3) What does it mean that Village Hearth Catering picks up the buffet?
We return to the venue after the meal to pick up our catering equipment and to box up YOUR leftovers.
4) What venues does Village Hearth Catering cater to?
We cater to businesses, homes, churches, schools, clinics, hospitals, fairgrounds, funeral and nursing homes; town, banquet and legion halls; ballrooms, shelter houses, pavillions and parks throughout the central Wisconsin area within a 90 mile radius of Hewitt. We have catered to Wildwood Pavillion in Mfld, Granite Peak Ski Area in Rib Mountain, Stoney Creek Inn in Mosinee, Grand Lodge in Mosinee, Artsblock in Wausau, Wausau Art Museum, Veranda in Medford, Nature's Edge in Waupaca, Bakersville Sports Bar & Grille. 5) What occasions and quantity of people does Village Hearth Catering cater to?
We can cater for your business meeting, dinner party, educational seminar, employee appreciation, family or class reunion, wedding reception or rehearsal, baby shower, anniversary, funeral, church function, community outreach or fundraiser. We cater for smaller and larger events.
6) What does the customer need to do to book their catered event date?
When Catering Planner information is acquired, VHC quotes are emailed or mailed. A deposit of 20% or $200 (whichever is greater) with signed contract is forwarded to the caterer. The deposit is subtracted from the balance due. Please refer to our Catering Planner, Guidelines & Rules link. The contract is available in PDF form on our website.
7) What Village Hearth Catering buffet menu items are GLUTEN FREE?
BREAKFAST: potato egg bake, scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, sausage links, sliced ham, fresh fruit salad, orange jiuce.
PICNIC: grilled hamburgers, brats, hotdogs, sliced ham, sliced turkey, Italian beef, smoked pulled pork, potato salad, coleslaw, baked beans, kernel corn, potato chips.
CLASSIC: roast prime beef, baked chicken, roast turkey, honey ham, herb or lemon pepper chicken breast, chicken alfredo, parsley buttered red potatoes, garlic mashed red potatoes, kernel corn, green beans.
ELEGANT: prime beef burgandy, chicken marsala, chicken cordon bleu, broccoli chicken in pesto white wine sauce, chicken saute swiss & mushroom, wild rice, parsley buttered red potatoes, garlic mashed red potatoes, parsley buttered baby carrots, kernel corn, green beans.
